In this window you will find information on the country of trade between Albania and EFTA countries, the requirements that the Albanian products should meet to be exported to Turkey and the requirements that must be met by products produced in EFTA countries to be imported into Albania.

In December 2009, Albania signed the Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). EFTA member states are Iceland, Switzerland, Norway and Liechtenstein. The Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Albania and the EFTA States focuses on the liberalization of trade in goods.

However, trade with EFTA countries is modest, representing only 1.2% of the volume of trade in Albania; Exports represent 1% of the country's total exports, while imports represent 1.3% of total imports. The main partner in trade with EFTA countries is Switzerland. The most exported products to EFTA countries are minerals and metals, vegetables, plastic articles and wardrobe.

Interested exporters can benefit from the EFTA Agreement between Albania and four non-EU countries (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), which gives them the possibility to export a number of Albanian products to the regional market without a customs tariff or with tariff quotas (refer to 'Trade Agreement').

Export to EFTA countries is liberalized. Albanian industrial products can be exported to EFTA countries without a customs tariff and without quotas. Meanwhile, for agricultural products, the parties have mutually agreed to each other the preferential tariff and the tariff quota.
