In this window you will find information on the country of trade between Albania and United States and the requirements that Albanian products must meet to be exported to United States countries and the requirements that must be met by products produced in US countries to be imported into Albania.

Trade with the US is modest. For 2016, trade exchanges with USA countries represent 1.5% of the country's total trade volume of international trade. Exports to the USA represent 0.65% of total exports and imports from US represent 1.9% of imports.

The most exported products to the US are aromatic and medicinal plants including essential oils and spices, which represent 67.5% of exports, minerals and other low weight products, including clothing and food products.

Interested exporters may benefit from the United States General System of Preferences, which allows them to export a large number of Albanian products to the US market without customs duties (refer to 'Trade Agreements').

Many Albanian articles are entitled to preferential treatment in accordance with the General System of Preferences (GSP) scheme without a customs tariff. This scheme includes a list of processed goods, fresh products, jewelry, most types of rugs, some agricultural products and other fish products, as well as many types of chemicals, marbles and minerals.

All products included in the scheme may benefit preferential treatment if they meet the conditions set out in the rules of origin. The certificate of origin is issued by the Albanian customs authorities.
